Good News for Lincoln’s Homeless Community

An exciting building site hoarding, reminiscent of the days when the city had its own racecourse on the West Common, is capturing the attention of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians as they make their way along Carholme Road. The unmissable artwork is a real talking point as it is emblazoned with racehorses.

The hoarding surrounds the site of a new framework development that will provide high quality accommodation for people experiencing homelessness in Lincoln.

This project comes hot on heels of the Gelder Group’s delivery of its first development for Framework Housing Association. The handing over of Sincil House, which was built on the site of Lincoln’s former Golden Cross pub in the city’s High Street.

Sincil House, which was handed over last September, features 15 self-contained flats for residents, who can also access tailored and comprehensive support to help them rebuild their lives.

Staff are on site 24/7 to provide support to vulnerable people with complex needs, helping them to regain stability, achieve independence, engage with the community and improve their quality of life.

Framework Director of Property and Housing Services Dave Newmarch said: “Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this important development forward. Our new site will significantly enhance the support available to people in Lincoln who are experiencing homelessness, providing 20 high quality units for individuals, along with trained staff on-site 24 hours a day to offer care, stability and a clear pathway towards independence.
